Hello Everyone and welcome back. I have a quilty finish today, the Winter Table Runner!
I used the Banana Quilt pattern from the Perfect 10 Quilts book by It’s Sew Emma. I’m not fond of the name so I’m calling it the Winter Table Runner. I changed the size of the blocks so the runner would fit on my kitchen island. I’m very pleased with the fabrics I used, those aquas from Sherri and Chelsi fabrics go so well with the navy from an older Sandy Gervais line. Adding the gray Essential Dot and the lighter gray from Modern Roses (by Stephanie Ryan) gives the table runner a nice cool wintery effect.
I quilted the table runner using the free motion and ruler foot for my Pfaff QE 4.0 sewing machine. It was fun to get back into some quilting again and it will be a nice warmup for quilting County Fair (soon to be started). I used Auriful 50 wt thread in matching colors for the blocks. Since the background is white, I used # 2021 in the background and bobbin. I did change to the navy thread in the bobbin on the navy blocks because the white was showing just slightly on the top. The batting is Quilter’s Dream Request, a little thinner than I like to use, but it was the only piece I had in white.
I finally was able to remove the Christmas runner and replace it with the Winter one. After having so many Christmas items displayed on the kitchen island during the season, I thought I would keep the clean crispness of the runner and use minimal decor on the island for winter. I think it suits the area very well and will enjoy it for another month or so.
That’s it for now. I hope you have a great week ahead and thanks for stopping by.
