Hello Everyone and welcome to Works In Progress Wednesday. I think today will be brief because I only worked on three cross stitch projects this past week.
Let’s start with Red She Said by Hands on Design, my cross stitch camp project for July. I started Banner #3, S-Z and have worked on it twice. I’m going to go ahead and post the second banner, K-R on Instagram and call it a finish for July. In my start post on there, I said I wanted to finish #2 and maybe #3. I will probably finish #3 this week, but this way I won’t have any pressure to get it finished. I’m sure I will not get them fully finished by the end of July. I’m stitching these on 32 ct Lt Sand, 2 over 2 using the called for Colour and Cotton thread. I have to go back to Sheri’s post to see what the theme is for August. I will be kitting what I chose this weekend.
On Sunday, I pulled out Birds and Berries for the first time in several weeks. I had been stitching Land That I Love, trying to complete my goal on that instead. I spent all my stitching time on Sunday working on the second mug. If you recall, I asked should I go left or right next and most of the responses were to do this sweet little mug. All that’s left on it is to fill in with white and add the backstitched words “Merry Christmas”. It will probably take two more sessions to complete.
I started back on Flea Market Flowers by Lori Holt and above is what I had finished last year.
This is how much I did this week. I really don’t want to put this one down. Since we are walking early and I swim early three times a week. I usually get about 40 minutes on it. I went ahead a made a few of the block outlines so I don’t have to stitch those each time I start a new block. Also, if I have a little thread left over, I’m trying to find a place to use it. That’s why you see the few stitches in the lower right side block. I’m stitching this with all the called for colors except the yellow and orange. I thought they were too light for my fabric which is 40 ct Soft Porcelain hand dyed by Luminous Fiber Arts. There are several larger motifs to stitch, but right now I feel like I’m progressing nicely on it and can have it finished by the end of August.
This week, I will continue with these three projects and decide what I want to stitch for August’s camp. I’m almost finished with the Lakeside Jellyroll Sizzle quilting and hope to have that finished this week, too.
I hope you all are well and have a great week.
