Hello Everyone and welcome back to Works In Progress Wednesday where I share cross stitch progress. I ended up stitching a little more this week than I have been recently and was able to finish two small projects and finish a goal on another one.

My first finish this week is Red, White and Bloom by Cherry Hill Stitchery. I stitched it on 32 ct Lakeside linen in Sand Dune using the called for DMC. The white is B5200 and I like how it stands out on the fabric. I have been giving the finishing some thought and I may finish it in the round or as an oval. For now, it will go on the ever growing stack of finished pieces.

I also finished Seasons of the Heart – Summer by With Thy Needle and Thread. It’s from the book, Seasons of the Heart. There is supposed to be a tag that says “Summer” in the empty space in the border. I have the materials to make it, but haven’t done so yet. If it doesn’t look good when I finish, then I’ll stitch the bottom border. This is stitched on 40 ct Vintage Country Mocha one over two. I did change a few colors. I changed the greens from Weeks Oscar and Olive to GA Endive and CCW Weeping Willow. Oscar and Olive are called for in so many of Brenda Gervais’ and Blackbird’s designs. I wanted a more summery feel, not bright, but not winter or autumn looking either. I’m not sure if I’ll finish it as a pillow or as a mounted piece.

I finished my goal on Land That I Love by Teresa Kogut of getting the top third finished. I really have enjoyed working on it as my morning stitch, but there is still a long way to go and I would like to work on some of my other larger projects. I did spend some extra time on it this past week to get it finished. I worked on it for 53 days from May – July, averaging about 45 minutes per day.

I pulled out Flea Market Flowers for my next morning stitch. I’ll be working on it from now until the end of August. I haven’t worked on it at all this year and who knows, maybe I can finish it in that time. I’m stitching it on 40 ct Soft Porcelain by Luminous Fiber Arts.

Most of my evening stitching time will be spent on Red She Said by Hands On Design. This is where I left off two weeks ago. The fabric, Zweigert’s Lt Sand, is showing much better in this picture. This is my cross stitch camp project and I would really like to finish the second and third pieces before the end of July.

It will be nice to move on to some brighter colors. I’ve been stitching red and blue things for a while now. I’m also itching to move on to some fall stitching. How about you? Are you stitching Christmas in July or have you moved on to fall or still stitching summer?

I hope you have a great week and thanks for stopping by!

Beautiful stitching – especially love the floss colours of the Flea Market Flowers. So many special cross-stitch pieces!

I’ve got “plans” to finish some fall that was started last year and of course plans for Christmas projects that I hope to get to in the next few weeks. We’ll see what I actually accomplish!!

I know what you mean. I have lots to finish, too. It’s going to be hot here for the next few weeks so maybe we’ll stay home and I can get some things done.
