A New Start and Previous Summer Finishes

Hello Everyone! Today I have something a little different for you. I feel like my WIP progress was underwhelming this past week and not enough to share. We’ve been walking early in the morning, so that stitching time has been reduced and we’ve started watching some TV shows at night that I have to follow closely, so even though I get a few stitches in, I’m mainly watching TV. I’m also spending longer sewing in the afternoons. Usually I would get about an hour of stitching in before dinner. But that’s okay, I’m enjoying my sewing time.

I did start the cross stitch camp project, the second banner in Red She Said by Hands on Design. Sorry, I didn’t press again this week. And the color of the fabric is really off. It’s 32 ct Light Sand by Zweigert and is much more yellow than it’s showing. I have found that the warmer colors are harder to photograph. I’m using the called for Colour and Cotton floss and it is nice to stitch with. So far, it’s been quick to stitch, but there is a small house in the middle with more color changes. I still would like to finish it this week, though.

I thought since I didn’t have much to share with current projects, I would show a few of my previous Summer Finishes. In case you are newish here, I’ve linked my previous posts about each of the projects.

These are Well Rounded – Summer by Hands on Design. I found this cute wood carved basket at a gift shop in Berkley Springs, WV and the pieces fit perfectly in it. Now to finish the other seasons.

This is When I Think of Summer by Puntini Puntini. I made it last year.

One of my all time favorites it July by The Prairie Schooler. I made it several years ago.

I took two designs from Jacquelynne Steves The Art of Home Club and made this small table mat. I love it and it’s perfect to display in early summer.

The quilt on the sofa is one of all time favorites, Blocks on the Go for Quilts that Grow. It uses all Bonnie and Camille fabrics and the hexie blocks were made over a period of a year with friends. The appliqued camper pillow is by Sherri K. Falls of This & That and the star pillow is my own design with With They Needle and Threads Where Liberty Dwells in the center.

I hope you are getting in some good summer time stitching and quilting. I have a few patriotic smalls to finish, then at least one more summer time stitch to do. Then it will be Fall Y’all! Where has the time gone.

Have a great week and thanks for stopping by!
