Hello Everyone and welcome to Works In Progress Wednesday, where I share my cross stitch progress. Hmmm! June 29! Where has the month gone. I’ve made some good progress this month on all my projects, including finishing my nephews quilt. I’ve also finished several cross stitch projects and I have two to show you today, but the time has flown! Also, just a reminder, June 30 is the last day for 15 % off in my Etsy shop. Use code SUMMER15.

First though,

we went on our first paddle yesterday morning. I was on my way home from a routine doctor visit and it was so pretty out that I called my husband and said let’s take the kayaks out, so we did. We’ve had some beautiful days to go, but we get busy doing other things, then in the evening we say “we should have gone out on the lake today”. We’ve had a lot of rain in the last week, so the lake was high and a little dingy, but the temperature was perfect at 11 AM and we almost had the lake to ourselves.

Now, back to stitching!

I fully finished Patriotic Rose by Threadwork Primitives in a reclaimed 4″ x 6″ barn wood frame like I used for the first one I stitched. I stitched it for June’s Cross Stitch Camp with Colorado Crossstitcher. I need to get it posted on Instagram by the 30th to be eligible for the giveaways. I gave you the details last week and you can see the one I finished for my brother-in-law here, in a 5″ x 7″ frame using two strands of thread. I used the board that came with the frame and spray glued batting to it, then put the stitched piece on top and laced the back. I took the glass out of the frame, too.

My evening stitching time was mostly spent on the small design in Let’s Talk Summer by Hands On Design. This is really cute and I will finish it in the round. Maybe I will have it fully finished by next week.

Speaking of finishes, I have a partial finish on Birds and Berries from Dimensions.

I finished the backstitching on the center piece. It took at least 5 hours of stitching for me to finish it, but it really makes a difference.

The colors in the top photo are close to being the true ones. I know a lot of stitchers don’t like to backstitch, but it brings out all the details in the design.

Birds and Berries is lovely, but I still have a long way to go to get it finished by Christmas. Which container should I start on next? Left or right? Let me know by Sunday.

Once Let’s Talk Summer was finished, I came back and started working on Seasons of the Heart -Summer by With Thy Needle and Thread. There is still a large flag above the house to stitch and the border, so it will be at least another week before this one’s done. It depends on what else I work on or start.

And we have an eagle in Land That I Love by Teresa Kogut. I love it! He’s sitting on top of a berry bowl which I’ll start tomorrow.

That’s it for me today. If you are reading this post on Wednesday, I will be off on the quilt shop trip in Lancaster, PA. Maybe I will have some fun things to share on Sunday. Until then, I hope you have a great week and thanks for stopping by.

Love seeing your lake pic – our son is itching to go out on the lake again too. Beautiful progress and finishing with your stitching. Your Birds and Berries is so very sweet – either side would be nice to start, but I would choose the right side – just because :)!

I’d start on the left-that mug with the poinsettia is so pretty. Have tons of fun on your quilt shop tour!
