Hello Everyone and Welcome Summer! I know some of you are having some very warm days, but our last four have been very pleasant. A front came through last Friday night and dropped our temperatures by 20 degrees. We took advantage of it on Saturday by going to a couple of places in the Valley.

You’ve seen this view before of the Massanutten Mountain across the Shenandoah Valley with the vineyard at the bottom of the hill. We took our son to the winery on the mountain because the day was crystal clear and the temperatures in the low 70’s. Besides the stiff breeze, it was perfect. The guys had a cool day to fish on Sunday, but the start of the fishing began with 90 degree days. They caught lots of fish and my son is now safely back home in Georgia.

While they fished, I mostly cut out fabric but I have lots of stitching to show, too.

I finished my Patriotic Rose by Threadwork Primitives. This is my June Cross Stitch Camp piece and before I show it on Instagram for credit, I’m going to frame it. I used the same colors as the one I stitched for my brother-n-law even though it’s not as vibrant because I stitched it 1 over 2 on 36 ct. I still love it, though! The fabric is Milk and Honey by Fiber on a Whim.

I have another finish, Part 1 of Red She Said by Hands On Design. The Colour and Cotton Threads are really pretty. It’s stitched on 32 ct Summer Moon linen by Zweigart. You can see I didn’t leave much room on the right side for the finishing. I’m going to have to be very careful not to pull the linen threads more than they are.

I will probably use Part 2 and maybe Part 3 for my cross stitch camp project for July. The theme is different finishing techniques. I have never made a banner before so it will fit the category.

Having finished Patriotic Rose, I started the small on Let’s Talk Summer by Hands On Design. This is the last season of the series for me. I’ve stitched the smalls first, then the large one. I’m stitching it on 32 ct Charcoal Lugana. I’m hoping to finish it by the end of the week. When I’m caught up on my Blockhead quilt blocks, I’m going to take a few days to finish some cross stitch pieces.

I’ve finished the house on Seasons of the Heart – Summer by With Thy Needle and Thread. I changed the color of the roof to GA Maple Syrup because I didn’t have the called for and I’m changing the green grass to GA Endive because it’s just a little more green than the Weeks Oscar that’s called for. I may also be changing the color of the gray urn to a grayish green. I’m stitching on the called for 40 ct Vintage Country Mocha. For once, the color of my fabric is close to true. You can see by the picture on the cover how lighting can affect the colors.

I am still happily working on Land That I Love by Teresa Kogut. I just started the eagle wings. I’m going to finish the top section before I put this away as my morning stitch. I’m using all the called for colors except for the white. I love it on my 40 ct Alabaster, which I think is now called Winter Moon.

I have several summer stitches waiting to be started so I’ll have to decide which one I’ll start once I finish Let’s Talk Summer. I hope you are getting in some good stitching or quilting time, too. As always, thanks for stopping by.

Beautiful stitching again! Love seeing all the different cross-stitches you are working on. I still enjoy starting my day with cross-stitching – though it is hard to stop at times :)!

Brenda, please tell us each time if the stitch is one over two, one over one, two over two, etc. As a returner to crossstitch, my eye needs to be trained to figure that out.

I’m dying to start Land that I Love, but have so many WIPs [large ones too] that I’m going to try to wait until next year to start it. Maybe I’ll get a few other things finished !
