Hello Everyone and welcome to this week’s edition of Works in Progress Wednesday. I hope everyone survived the cold weekend. It warmed up on Monday and we are enjoying early spring weather and plan to get out again on Friday, the destination yet to be determined. We want to take advantage of the beautiful weather and explore some new places. This week I have a fully finished item to share, a few WIPs and something to be started soon.

I fully finished the small design in Let’s Talk Spring by Hands on Design. I stitched it last spring, but wasn’t sure how I wanted to finish it. I found the small round cutting board at Hobby Lobby in the spring collection and Hello Spring fits on it perfectly. I stitched it on 32 ct Charcoal Lugana with the called for DMCs. I used three graduated layers of batting on top of mat board and laced the back.

I still just have a small start on the large design in Let’s Talk Spring, so I’m displaying it where I’ve been displaying the large ones in the corner of my kitchen counter. The piece behind it is from Jacquelynne Steve’s Bitty Bloom collection that I embroidered several years ago. I don’t have many spring stitched pieces so it was nice to get it finished and displayed.

I haven’t shown Birds and Berries in a few weeks, so here it is. I’ve finished the green branches on the right side since I last shared it. This is what I stitch on Sundays and some days I get more done than others. Next week I want to finish the berries in the branches and start back on the poinsettia at the bottom. The fabric is white, not pink.

I didn’t work on the house at all this week in Winter Rose Manor. I concentrated on the left side and I finished the boarder! I also stitched the vines and the two hearts above that. A third initial is charted where I have the hearts, but I didn’t like the separation of the initials so in went the hearts. I stitched the year so now I have to finish it this year! This is a lovely piece and I enjoy stitching it each morning.

I am almost finished with Patriotic Rose by Threadworks Primitives. After all the color changes for the red, I am happy with the DMC 22. This is going to be a gift so it will get all my attention until I’ve fully finished it. I do plan to stitch it again for me, but probably on a higher count fabric.

Tulip House by Melisa, Pinker N’ Punkin Quilting and Stitching

Melisa at Pinker N Punkin Quilting just shared a new saltbox house, Tulip House. I already have the pattern downloaded and printed and will start it soon. I don’t know if I’ll keep the house yellow, but I might.

As I was putting away the winter decorations, I pulled out all of Melisa’s houses that I’ve stitched. It’s a nice collection and so nice that Melisa shares here design work for free.

That’s it for me today. I hope you have a great week and thanks for stopping by.
