Hello Everyone! I hope you are having a beautiful week! We are finally having some fall weather here although our trees have barely started turning. We are going camping soon and we hope to see some good color then. This week I have a couple of fully finished pieces and a finished stitched piece to share plus a couple of WIPs I’ve been working on.
I fully finished Let’s Talk Autumn by Cathy of Hands On Design. I started it last fall and worked on it for a few weeks before putting it up until this September. It’s stitched on 16 ct Black Aida using all the called for DMC’s. It’s finished on a frame I just bought for half price at Hobby Lobby. You can just see a little of the backing fabric behind the stitched piece. I put magnets on the back piece and washers on the stitched piece so I can use the frame for the other “Let’s Talk” pieces. I have the mat board for the Winter one all ready to go. I just need to lace the stitched piece onto it. That’s the only other one I have finished. After the first of the year, I’ll work on Spring.
I have it displayed in the corner of my kitchen counter.
My other FFO is “Ophelia Manor on Punkin Holler Lane” by Melisa at Pinker N Punkin Quilting and Stitching. Melisa always shares her talents with us for free and I like stitching her houses. I stitched it on 32 ct Lt Mocha that I tea dyed myself. It is a little darker in person than it shows up in the picture. I changed some of the pumpkin colors and had to redo the shape of the house after I extended the roof line by mistake and wasn’t going to rip it all out. It looks a little Halloweeny without being just a Halloween stitch.
I added it to my bowl with some of my other fall smalls and love how it all came together. The black in the house complements the small Trip Around the World quilt that I have on the table, too.
My finish is The Philanthropic Pumpkin, the charity piece from Hands On Design. I spent the weekend working on it so I could get it finished. I should have it fully finished in the next day or two. I think it’s going to look great on my Pumpkin Run table runner made from Fig Tree fabrics.
I spent a couple of days working on A Raven’s Reply by Luminous Fiber Arts. I really would like to get this finished soon. There is still a lot of stitching in the borders though.
I didn’t get as much done on Scenic Farm as I would have liked this week. Instead of stitching on this for my morning stitch over the weekend, I worked on the Philanthropic Pumpkin instead. I still have plenty of time to finish it, however, before the end of the year.
While I was at Hobby Lobby last week, I picked up some DMC floss so I can get started on a small Halloween piece that I’ve had for years. I haven’t picked out the fabric yet, so I’ll give you the details on it next time.
I hope you have a great rest of your week and thanks for stopping by!
