Hello Everyone! It’s Works In Progress Wednesday! I’ve worked on three cross stitch pieces this past week and I had one finish that I showed on my last post.

If you missed the Sew Tweet finish, go here to see all the details.

Anniversaries of the Heart, Clara Ellen by Blackbird Designs

I made good progress on Clara Ellen for the #bbanniversaries2020 SAL on Instagram. Did you notice the roof? Those are satin stitches. I really like the texture that they give the roof. I’m substituting more colors in this one and using some of the same ones from Pink Hill Manor. The called for thread colors don’t seem to match the picture as well as Pink Hill Manor, but not quite as bad as Snow Garden. I did go through the rest of the charts and ordered more floss. I’m stitching along with @pumpkinhollowquilts and @canopiedstitches on IG. Last night, I filled in the rest of the house.

Prairie Schooler July

I got a start on Prairie Schooler July over the weekend.

I’m stitching it on 32 ct. Ivory Lugana using mostly the called for DMC colors. I changed the dark red because I thought the called for was too brown. I like a brighter red for my flags. I think I will use an over dyed thread for the grass and house just to give it a little more dimension. I started on the bottom because I want to leave off the words and repeat the star border at the top. I will have to do some adjusting when I get there.

Farmhouse Christmas, Dairy Darling by Little House Needleworks

I just have to finish the wagon and cow in Dairy Darling in Farmhouse Christmas, but that’s still a lot of stitching. These little charts are deceiving in how many stitches are in each of them.

I can see the finish line, though. You probably won’t notice, but I took out the green trees in the barn block on the lower right. I used the called for color and you could barely see them. Before I go back to Jack’s Tree Farm, I am going to add those back in. Hopefully I’ll finish this one by the weekend so I can get back to Jack. I really want to get these two finished.

I received my first little bit of market haul yesterday, but I’ll wait until I get all of it in to show you at one time. My stitching plans are to continue to work on these three projects. If you noticed, I did not stitch on Baby It’s Cold at all. I’m putting that away for a while. I want to start at least one more patriotic piece this month.

I’ve also started a new quilt that I designed two years ago and have had the fabric for since then. I’m making test blocks this week, then plan on cutting the fabric for it.

This will keep me busy as we stay at home. I hope you all are staying healthy. We are being vigilant here at home. My husband is a pilot and is still working so he will come in contact with people. He’s doing the best he can while he’s out. One of his concerns now is finding a place to eat while on a trip. Please keep our health care workers and those that do need to work and those out of work in your prayers and let’s pray that we recover from this situation sooner rather than later.

Thanks for stopping by!
