Hello Everyone! I thought I would try something new. I plan to post my cross stitch progress and plans each Wednesday. If I don’t have much to show, I may post every two weeks. I thought it would keep my posts a little shorter if I divided up the quilting and cross stitch posts.

First up this week is progress on “The Anniversaries of the Heart” Series by Blackbird Designs. This is a stitch along hosted by Olivia of @pumpkinhollowquilts and Deborah of @canopiedstitches on Instagram. If you’re interested in following along, check out the #bbanniversaries2020 to see what everyone else is doing, too.

I started work on this piece again on February 1. My goal is to stitch 7 plus a bonus chart. There are actually 12 plus 2 bonus charts to the series. I just didn’t want the final piece to be two large. I’ll be stitching in a 3 x 3 grid.

This is Pink Hill Manor, Pattern 4. I am really enjoying stitching this one. Even though I love the look of the first pattern, it was very hard to stitch because of the light colors. I am using most of the called for colors or DMC and am stitching 2 over 2 on 35 ct. linen. The colors in this chart are absolutely gorgeous. I’m not usually a pink or purple kind of person, but these are lovely.

As I mentioned in a previous post, I am stitching along with Fat Quarter Shop’s, Bloomtopia SAL. It’s a free SAL and you can download the charts every twice a month through June. FQS does ask that you make at least a $15 donation to Make A Wish if you plan on stitching along. They are also hosting the Bloomtopia quilt along using a design by Sherri and Chelsi if you want to check it out.

I finished the first chart last week. I spent a couple of days on it, but it was a quick stitch. I’m using Star Sapphire 32 ct. linen by Wichelt using the selected DMC flosses from Corey Yoder’s curated pack offered by the FQS. The flosses match Corey’s fabric lines and I plan on using her fabric in my finish.

Jack Frost’s Tree Farm, Hot Cocoa by Little House Needleworks.

My daily 30 or 60 (depending on how much time I have) for February has been spent on Jack Frost’s Tree Farm and Farmhouse Christmas. The daily 30 means that I try to work on it each day for that amount of time, usually in the mornings. I only have a few more blocks in each of these to finish and I think it’s time. I’m ready to move on to something new, but I am going to finish these first.

Jack’s Tree Farm stitched 2 over 2 on 32 ct. linen

After finishing Hot Cocoa, I picked up Farmhouse Christmas, also by Little House Needleworks, and started on Cock-a-doodle-do.

After I took this picture, I had to take out all the bottom trees and snow. I was off by half a stitch. If I had more done, I would have left it. I don’t think that there is one part in Farmhouse Christmas that doesn’t have a mistake in it. I think it’s the fabric. It’s the called for, but not the original fabric that the model was stitched with. I don’t know if I have the piece turned the wrong way (not on the straight of grain), or it’s the color, but even with magnification, I still have a hard time seeing the holes in the linen. I am stitching this on 30 ct., 2 over 2.

My plans are to continue with Pink Hill Manor until it’s finished and Jack’s Tree Farm and Farmhouse Christmas. I would like to start Sew Tweet some time this weekend. The pattern is by Misty of Luminous Fiber Arts. I bought this from her Etsy shop last year as a PDF download and want to get it started. I haven’t selected the fabric or threads for it yet, but plan on doing that later this week. I will also download the next Bloomtopia chart when it’s released on the 14th. Plenty to keep me busy.

Happy stitching and quilting and thanks for stopping by.

Love seeing all your lovely stitchings. I’m slowly getting ready to do some too, but have a few ‘unfinished’ ones calling my name – which do I do first :)!

Love these. I started my Hometown Holidays “Pet Store” from Little House Needleworks. I am so loving working with the linen-it’s very good quality which I’m sure makes a difference. I’ve ordered a sampler and more of the HH patterns since I want to do them all. I think these 2 will be my projects for now, but I am definitely hooked on the linen.
