Hello Everyone! I hope you had a great weekend. I was busy this past week putting the house back together after the plumbing repairs, but I managed to get a little sewing and stitching in.
On Monday, I attended the foundation paper piecing workshop with Nancy Mahoney. I picked up some new tips and here trunk show was amazing. We got to see so many of the quilts that I’ve admired in the quilt magazines for years.
This is the block we made for the Wild Waves Quilt.
I was going to make the table runner, but after sewing the first four blocks together, I may make the wall hanging if I have enough fabric.
I love these colors and am glad I went with the black background. I was able to finish these four blocks at the workshop. Of course I haven’t touched it since, but I would like to finish it by the middle of October to be able to use it this year.
I also finished the Dot ‘N Dash jellyroll quilt by Christa Watson from her book “Piece and Quilt with Precuts”. This really was quick to make. Using a jellyroll is the theme for this months Minis and More Parade hosted by Sherri and Michele. If you made something on Saturday for the National Jellyroll Day, you should send a picture to either of them to be included in the parade at the beginning of October. I will show you a full picture of the quilt during the parade. Unfortunately, I won’t have time to quilt it by then.
It was so nice here on Thursday, that I decided I needed to take a break from housework and my basement sewing room to sit outside and stitch in the afternoon. The clock is wrong, it’s about 4:00 when I took the picture, but look, 78 degrees and low humidity, at 4:00! We had a few really nice, fall like days, but it’s supposed to be hot again this week with temps climbing back into the low 90’s.
These are the projects I had out that afternoon. I stitched on several fall projects this week:
My plans for this week are to finish the final embroidery pieces for the Happy Little Things BOM and continue to work on these fall cross stitch pieces. It’s hard to believe that September is almost gone. I hope October brings cooler temperatures!
Thanks for stopping by and have a great week.
