I Love Home Block 4

Hello Everyone! It’s time for Block 4 of Jacquelynne’s I Love Home BOM. This is the last block and next month, we’ll be finishing the quilt. Our sponsor this month is Olfa and they are offering an incredible prize. More at the end of this post.

Now for my block this month:

This is another great block, but it does have the Half Rectangle Units again. Don’t forget to use Jacquelynne’s tutorial to make them. The fabrics are a mix of Fig Tree’s Coney Island, Chestnut Street and Strawberry Fields Revisited. There are also a few of Corey Yoder’s Sundrops and a few Bella Solids, all by Moda.

Here is a close up of the applique/embroidery. I didn’t use any new stitches this month, but I did use the chain stitch around the flower centers. Instead of appliqueing the leaves and small hearts on the roof, I made them using a satin stitch.

Don’t all the blocks look great together? I’m ready for the sashing and borders. I’ve been doing a little planning using Jacquelynne’s color sheets. Have you used them?

These are two of the designs I’ve been playing with. Is one of these the final one? You’ll have to wait until next month to see what I decided to do. These coloring sheets will also be handy to plan the quilting designs.

Now for the Giveaway this month:

ILoveHomeBOM-NovemberGiveawayThis is an awesome giveaway, I know because Olfa sent all the bloggers the exact same package. I’ve been using mine since I received it. I did wait to put the endurance blade in until I knew I was going to do a lot of cutting in August.

There’s over 500 squares and rectangles in that container. I’ve been using the blade every since and I’ve done a lot of cutting. I will definitely replace this blade with another endurance blade. The mat is also a great size. It folds in half so it’s easy to take to retreats or classes.

And for me, it fits perfectly by the small table I keep by my sewing machine. No more running to my cutting table to trim blocks.

Now, for the Giveaway.

***Please note that this giveaway is open to US winners only this time, due to shipping costs.

For your chance to win this awesome giveaway, tell me if you’ve kept up with making the blocks and are ready to make Block 4.

Leave me a comment on this blog post by Sunday, November 12 at 11:59 PM EDT. Be sure to check out all the other bloggers to see their wonderful Block 4 and enter on their sites for a chance to win, too.

You can also follow along and post your own pictures on social media using #ILoveHomeQuilt on Instagram and Jacquelynne’s Sew Quilty Friends page on Facebook and on Pinterest.

I’m ready to make Block 4, but first I want to finish the other blocks! Maybe I’ll work backwards. I jumped in late, so I have some catch-up to do. I got the quilt kit for I Love Home and the quality of the fabric is exceptional. I’m so happy with it.

I find all the different colors interesting. I tend to make everything per the pattern with the same type of colors.
