Hello Everyone! I just have a few things I’ve been working on to show you today.
First I want to congratulate Jayne from the U.K. who won the I Love Buttons package for the I Love Home Block 3 Giveaway. I hope you all are keeping up with your blocks. We have one block left, then the borders and you’ll have a new quilt!
I had four weeks worth of Moda Blockhead blocks to catch up with. I worked on those last weekend.
The first one is an alternate block by Lisa Bongean. Another one with over 80 pieces in it. It is a challenge, but makes me be very careful in the piecing. A tip for you when you are working on these little pieces, starch! Then more starch! At least the last two were easy. I finished sewing the last one in about 20 minutes. This week’s is all about flying geese.
I’ve also been keeping up with the #100hexies100days2017 with @sewfoxymama on Instagram. Last week the theme was travel, so I took some time out from using Grandma’s vintage fabrics and had some fun with them.
I played around with my photo editor, Coral PaintShop Pro X9, and merged my two pictures together. This is my daughter with the dolphins on the sound side of Jekyll Island.
Using Adventures fabric by Amy Ellis, I made a few to represent places we’ve been and that we like to camp.
I thought I might put these on some black grunge and use the Adventures fabric and make a zippered pouch. I might try to get that finished next week.
My friend, Lydia, gave me this fabric which she bought on her Alaska trip. It was perfect to represent all the animals that we saw during our trip to Yellowstone NP. I think I’ll make a mug rug with this one.
I’m hoping that by Friday, I’ll have my new pattern available. Here’s a peak at the Scattered Leaves and Pumpkins Pillow or Mini Quilt.
Writing the pattern has kept me busy for the past week or so.
Thanks for stopping by!
