Q3 Finish-A-Long Number 2

Welcome! Today I would like to share my second FAL for the the 3rd Quarter. You can find my Q3 list here.

 

It’s the Everyday Skirt by Liesl + CO. The fabric is a Robert Kaufman Lawn.

It’s nice and lightweight, but now that I’ve worn it, it wrinkles a lot. I had to press it for the pictures after I wore it to church.

It fits slightly below the natural waistline. There are pockets and side panels that helps it lay flat on the sides and in the back.

There is a double elastic back waistband using 1/2″ elastic which I think gives it a nicer look than a single larger band would. If I make this skirt again, I would probably make it one size smaller or at least the back smaller. There is a lot of fabric in the back, although with the side panels, it does lay flat.

The Everyday Skirt was very easy to make. I had it made and machine hemmed in about 3 1/2 hours (not including cutting time). I purchased the pattern at a LQS.

It’s been fun getting back into some fashion sewing. As stated in my previous post, the top I have listed for the FAL is not going to be finished. Maybe I’ll try to find something for the fall.
